Geophysical investigations to search for the remains of sister Chiara Isabella D'Amato

This paper reports the results of integrated geophysical surveys performed inside Monastery St Chiara in Nardó southern Italy. Ground-penetrating radar (GPR) and electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) investigations were carried out to find tomb Sister D’Amato, whose location has been lost over centuries. Isabella D'Amato was a charismatic holy figure. She died 1693. buried monastery but her body never found. The data acquisition along with series closely spaced lines for GPR using non-standard array ERT. Data processed visualised as two-dimensional vertical sections depth slices or three-dimensional volumes (GPR ERT) allow an interpretation results. analysis sets revealed anomalies that could be ascribed possible archaeological structures, probably related earliest ages sacred building well other (bedrock, fractures) presumable natural origin.
